Mill Green Business Park conversion to 89 flats

In 2014 under Permitted Development Rights, permission was granted to convert the commercial buildings of the Mill Green Business Park into residential flats.

Planning Application C2014/70678 granted:-

  • 48 flats
    • 20 x 1 bedroom flats
    • 16 x 2 bedroom flats
    • 12 x 3 bedroom flats
    • 48 parking spaces

On 18 February another planning application was submitted C2016/73775 but eventually withdrawn.

Latest application out for consultation


Application C2016/75186 is now out for public consultation, ending 14 October 2016.

This application is in addition to the already approved 48 flats.  As it is major alterations to the building, it seems we now get a say over this development, where as we didn’t before due to it being permitted development.

The application is for:

  • an erection of an infill extension to the second floor
  • creation of an additional storey at 3rd floor level and accommodation in a new roof
  • providing an additional 41 flats
    • 29 x 1 bedroom flats
    • 12 x 2 bedroom flats
  • 21 parking spaces
  • additional cycle and refuse facilities, alterations to landscaping and amenity areas

Total numbers (application C2016/75186 + C2014/70678)

  • 89 flats
    • 49 x 1 bedroom flats
    • 28 x 2 bedroom flats
    • 12 x 3 bedroom flats
  • 69 car parking spaces
  • 132 bike spaces

To view planning applications and put in the relevant 5 digit number only i.e. 77417 and hit return.  Sometimes it comes back saying nothing found.  Hit return again and it then usually works!
