Plant up Hackbridge

Hackbridge & Beddington Corner
Neighbourhood Development Group

Press release – 26 February 2021

Hackbridge residents are celebrating after Dave Tchil and Lysanne Horrox won funding of nearly £35,000 to spend on replanting five community locations.  Acquired through the Hackbridge & Beddington Corner Neighbourhood Development Group (NDG), the project will regreen five locations to ensure they make Hackbridge cleaner, greener and more beautiful.

A year of hard work by volunteers Dave & Lysanne led to the award from multiple funders.  The NDG would like to thank the Beddington Community Benefit Fund, Postcode Lottery Fund, and Idverde Community Investment Fund.

Dave Tchil said “The creation of a green corridor of plants and flowers is exactly what Hackbridge residents deserve. Together we’ll rebuild a sense of community and continue to make our home even better”.

Lysanne Horrox said “This success follows in the footsteps of many other residents over many years and enables the implementation of projects highlighted in our Neighbourhood Plan.  This is a local initiative led by and delivered by local people through the NDG”.

Work will start as soon as Covid restrictions are relaxed.  Green fingered locals of any level are welcome to join in to help plant and maintain now and in the future.
