Our neighbourhood plan voted in!

On 29 November 2018, residents of Hackbridge and Beddington Corner voted for their neighbourhood plan.

On 30 November, members of the NDG were allowed to witness the counting of votes, which began at 9.30am at Sutton Council Civic Office.  By 10.05am the official results were announced with the majority voting in favour of our neighbourhood plan!

This meant our plan was immediately brought into force and part of Sutton Council’s statutory planning documents that sits under their own Local Plan.

Official figures

  • 700 residents voted – turnout 14.81%
  • 626 voted yes (89.4%)
  • 74 voted no (10.6%)
  • We are the 12th neighbourhood plan to be adopted in London
