Lidl’s illuminated flag post denied!

In 2019 Lidl applied to erect a 9ft illuminated sign outside their store that would have a negative impact on the local area. Thankfully Sutton Council refused the application, however Lidl applied again and then took it further, appealing against the decision.

The Planning Inspectorate today has dismissed their appeal, citing various planning policies it contravened, including our Neighbourhood Plan Policy H&BEP1 – Local Character and Sense of Place.

We are pleased our Neighbourhood Plan has helped stop this unnecessary eyesore.
